Joel Miles is a player at the University of Minnesota. In high school, Joel played for Raymore-Peculiar, where they led the team to its first Class 6 MSHSAA State Championship. On the national stage, they won the 2021 ONCT as the lead scorer of "Scalene Triangle." Joel was ranked 9th in the 2021 GrogerRanks player poll.

Joel's subject editing credits include the first three editions of the Missouri high school regs set SHOW-ME (for which they variously edited literature, visual fine arts, and philosophy) and 2023 ACF Winter (for which they edited philosophy). They also recently head edited the third iteration of SHOW-ME, which is currently being mirrored across the country as part of the 2024-2025 season.

With Conor Thompson, Joel wrote a large percentage of the American geography and culture side event TOWNS.
