Preliminary Standings
1 Parkway Central 2-1 935 pts. 2 Liberty 2-1 890 pts. 3 Webb City 2-1 845 pts. 4 SLUH 2-1 830 pts. 5 Kirksville 2-1 805 pts. 6 Eureka 1-2 950 pts. 7 Raytown South 1-2 845 pts. 8 Hannibal 0-3 535 pts.
The Class 4 preliminary rounds resulted in some unusual results. The top 5 teams each went 2-1, which precluded Kirksville from making the playoffs simply because they scored the fewest number of points. This highlights some of the flaws with MSHSAA's current system, including having a pre-determined preliminary schedule based on district without a full round robin, and tie-breaking teams with the same record by points in the case where one does not make the playoffs.
Also note that the highest-scoring team, Eureka, lost its first and third matches by 10 and 5 points, respectively.
