The 2008 Illinois Panasonic Team won the 2008 Panasonic Academic Challenge. It was the second consecutive victory in the tournament for Team Illinois, and their fourth top finish in the top three in four years.
Team Members:
- John Brown - Auburn
- Greg Gauthier - Wheaton North
- Curt Peterson - Wheaton Warrenville South
- Sivakumar Sundaram - Auburn
- Mike Verity - Loyola Academy
The team was coached by Nick Pitz of Moline High School and David Adkins of Springfield High School.
Both Gauthier and Coach Pitz were members of the 2007 team that won the tournament.
Gauthier was named to the "All-American" team. This was the second year in a row that he had been named to the team, and was only the third player in the history of the tournament to be named to a second "All-American" team.
