Ladue Horton Watkins High School won the Class 4 MSHSAA state titles in 2006 and 2009 despite attending almost no tournaments, doing so due to knowledge gained in the real world and the relative weakness of the Missouri canon. Owing to Max Schindler's improvements during the summer, Ladue once again proved itself as the top Missouri team by winning the 2010 Missouri Fall Academic Tournament, Tiger Bowl III, 2011 Villa Duchesne Tournament, and 2011 Missouri S&T Spring Tournament. The team also took third place at WUHSAC XIII, losing only to the out-of-state teams, Carbondale and Northmont.

Starting in 2011, Ladue began hosting LIST, an annual housewritten tournament. A team of Max Schindler, Zev Kane, Ben Zhang, Jeremy Novack, and Haohang Xu tied for 13th at the 2011 HSNCT, where Max was an All-Star. An open team comprised of the same people (sans Jeremy) won a mirror of MUT at Rock Bridge High School.
