Revision as of 15:38, 25 January 2014

Gonzaga College will be hosting its 5th Annual Gonzaga Academic Tournament (GAT) on February 9, 2008 at the namesake high school in Washington, DC.

Format

This tournament will follow the format used by PACE at its national tournament, written by Academic Initiative, the only second set so formatted to be used the 2007-2008 season. Official PACE rules for format can be found here. Contact us (see below) for further questions.

Location

Gonzaga College is located at scenic 19 Eye Street between H and K Streets on North Capitol Street. Only 3 blocks from Union Station and the Union Station metro, it is within walking distance of the Capitol and many museums if you want to go sight-seeing.

Registration

To register, send an e-mail to our coach, Father Ken Meehan at kmeehan@gonzaga.org with your school name and how many teams and buzzer systems you plan on bringing, as well as an emergency contact number so we are able to contact you vice versa if you are running late or if there is an emergency. Please send all checks (if you plan to register early/before Feb. 1) to:

Gonzaga Academic Team

Gonzaga College High School

19 Eye Street, NW

Washington, DC 20001

Cost

The Cost will be:

$60 for first team

$15 for copy of questions

-$5 for each additional team

-$5 for a buzzer that works

-$5 if PAYMENT is sent before Feb. 1st

Please make all checks payable to Gonzaga Academic Team.

Food

As in the past, the Gonzaga Academic Tournament will feature a large, "legit" breakfast banquet available in our cafeteria. More specific food details coming soon.

Other Information

We expect a very competitive field and we're capping the field at 42 teams right now so please register soon. Further, we had some moderating issues at our last tournament and we're hoping to fix those by capping the field at 42 but if you are in the DC area on the 9th and like a free lunch we would GREATLY appreciate any help.

Any questions at all, please feel free to contact either tournament advisors Dan Puma and Kevin Leahy at bssoxfan109@comcast.net and mmmdonuts90@yahoo.com, respectively. Reminder that all registrations be made through Father Meehan at kmeehan@gonzaga.org.
