The Miami Valley School is an independent, college-preparatory day school in Dayton, Ohio. It also has a high school program.

History

The Miami Valley School's middle school quiz team was founded in 2014 by MVS alum Tyler Benedict.

In its first year of existence, the MVS middle school team won the Olentangy Hyatts AQUILA MS tournament and also won the high school JV division at Northmont OAC. Miami Valley A won the inaugural Ohio NAQT MS state championship with an 8-1 record and 24.56 PPB, while Miami Valley B tied for third with a record of 5-3. The first team was led by captain Max Mader, with support from John John Groger, William Groger, and Amay Kejriwal.

Miami Valley attended the 2015 NAQT MSNCT, finishing in a tie for eighth place with a 9-5 record. The team was comprised of Mader, both Grogers, and Kejriwal.

In 2015-16, Miami Valley's middle school program won the Olentangy Liberty Give Thanks For Quizbowl tournament and qualified for the 2016 MSNCT. MVS won its second consecutive NAQT MS state championship in April 2016, again with an 8-1 record, while the B team finished in fifth place with a record of 6-2. Miami Valley A was led by captain John John Groger, with support from William Groger, Sahir Kabir, and Vera Menafee, while Miami Valley B was made up of Eleanor Peters (captain), Jordan Bradstreet, Shraya Sandhir, Ronnie Rajotte, Hayden Gibson, and Ryan Evans.

At the 2016 MSNCT, Miami Valley finished tied for fifth with an 11-3 record. The team was comprised of the Groger brothers, Sahir Kabir, Vera Menafee, Eleanor Peters, and Jordan Bradstreet. John John Groger was the 3rd place All-Star for the tournament with 98.92 PPG.
