Regardless, please take a less confrontational and heavy-handed approach rather than complaining about people "lurking on [your] user page": perhaps they were just monitoring the recent changes page or some such thing. Info boxes on user pages
Pursuant to this, I agree that user pages are not really the right place for such information (the right place would be a hypothetical Ameya Singh page in the main namespace), but it also doesn't harm anything. Regardless, please take a less confrontational and heavy-handed approach rather than complaining about people "lurking on [your] user page": perhaps they were just monitoring the recent changes page or some such thing.
