Jacob Hardin-Bernhardt is a member of the class of 2023 and a history/current events-based generalist at Hunter College High School in New York, New York. He is currently working on HBRanks [1], a statistical ranking of History Bowl teams based on a modified Elo formula.
Notable Achievements
He played on Hunter's 8th place team at the 2018 MSNCT, captained Hunter's 1st place team at the 2019 MSNCT, and played on Hunter's 1st place team at 2019 NHBB Junior Varsity, where he also made bee playoffs and was top 25 in JV in the prelims, as well as being second scorer on Hunter B at the 2019 HSNCT, a tournament at which he powered more often and had a higher PP20 than he had achieved at the 2018 MSNCT one year earlier. He also got 5th at the 2019 MS IPNCT and won the "bloodbath" game, and was ranked as the 3rd best middle schooler and 2nd best 8th grader in a post season poll by Conor Thompson, in which his team, Hunter A, was also voted the near-unanimous best middle school team. He was later ranked as the 2nd best freshman in the 2020 Groger Ranks Awards.
Team Positions
Since 2019, he has served as assistant to the Hunter co-president and NYC Middle School Championship Tournament Director Cerulean Ozarow, and played for Hunter B.
