Playing career
Perkins was Honaker's captain in 2010, leading the team to its first of what would become three VHSL State Runner-Ups. In college, he played a semester or two for William and Mary.
Perkins still competes in the occasional open and trash tournament, often using the names of former high schools in middle Appalachia like "Big Creek"[1] for pseudonyms.
