William Golden is a player for Texas. He played for James E. Taylor in high school, which he led to a 4th place finish and a 2018 NSC and a 2nd place finish at the 2019 NSC, and Harmony Excellence-Houston in middle school.

Golden helped write the SAGES II elementary school question set.

He is the only player to be named a member of the HSQBRank All-World First Team in every year they played high school quiz bowl: 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Despite this, he was never Player of the Year.
