I believe there remains some controversy over whether Kevin Kwok was a "quizbowl player for Annandale High School" as opposed to being "a person who went to Annandale High School and created a website that is used by quizbowl players."  Annandale only attended one event that kept stats during Kevin Kwok's time in high school, and those stats show that he did not play for them at that tournament. The school participated in It's Academic and VHSL Scholastic Bowl during that time but I don't know that Kevin even claimed to be a member of those teams, let alone that anyone could verify that he was.  Matt Weiner (talk) 16:11, 4 April 2021 (CDT)

::In the post the wording is always about the team or "we" playing events, and he never actually says that he as an individual actually played any sort of tournament, even VHSL or IA.  I think that stuck out to me at the time and still seems deliberate.  At the same time it's pretty clear that this isn't ever going to be known for sure and no longer matters all that much now that people have come around on the Protobowl thing.  Matt Weiner (talk) 20:48, 4 April 2021 (CDT)

In the post the wording is always about the team or "we" playing events, and he never actually says that he as an individual actually played any sort of tournament, even VHSL or IA. I think that stuck out to me at the time and still seems deliberate. At the same time it's pretty clear that this isn't ever going to be known for sure and no longer matters all that much now that people have come around on the Protobowl thing.
