I think it's worth having a separate page about televised tournaments to explain a bit more about them other than claiming they're all terrible (there are more and more now using some degree of pyramidal questions and better formats). There are some interesting "clusters" such as It's Academic versions that emerged in the DMV area but also spread to other places.
This list also varies considerably from the category of quizbowl TV shows, which makes one or the other of those seem redundant.
