Stuyvesant High School is a public magnet school in New York City.

History

The Stuyvesant High School Quizbowl team was founded in the spring of 2005 by a pair of sophomores named Victor Wong and Connie Tao. Stuyvesant tied for 21st at the 2007 HSNCT. At the 2007 NSC Stuyvesant defeated eventual champions Maggie Walker in a playoff game, resulting in a three-way tie in one of the brackets and Stuyvensant finishing 5th overall in the tournament. The official team was discontinued in 2009 in part after then coach and school librarian Christopher Asche was dismissed from the school.

During the 2010-2011 season, Stuyvesant's quizbowl program was restarted, and they even appeared at the 2011 HSNCT, finishing 6-5. Stuyvesant once again qualified for the 2013 HSNCT, but was waitlisted after the field was capped at 256 teams.

During the 2015-2016 season, Stuyvesant's Quizbowl team finished 5-5 at the 2016 HSNCT.
