A player is an individual who plays quizbowl. Players comprise the audience of the game, as well as part of the community alongside the coaches who help organize teams, the writers and editors who produce questions, and those who once served in those roles but are now inactive.
Quizbowl is a team-based game: each game is played between two teams of between one and four players. Each player in mainstream quizbowl is affiliated with an academic institution or school, typically by attending and pursuing a degree or equivalent credential.
