History

Merrol Hyde's first known tournament appearance was in 2012 at Quizbusters (WNAB).[3] Since 2012, they have developed into a regional powerhouse, and sometimes a contender on the national stage. From November 2019 to February 2021, they won 6/7 of the NAQT high school tournaments they attended. They won the Tennessee Academic Coaches Association State Championship in 2019 and 2020. In 2019, they finished tied for 7th at the SSNCT. [1] Kim Ponce is the third head coach in school history. The team was founded by Gretchen Huff.
