Buffalo Grove High School is in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The team plays in the Mid-Suburban League (MSL) and has consistently one of the top twenty teams in Illinois. In their first season (2008-2009), they placed second in the MSL thanks to the solid play of David Garb, Nick Bergeon, and Alex Harrison. The team has improved significantly in the past five years due to the arrival of strong generalists such as Justin Wytmar and Rohan Ganeshan, culminating in a 5th place finish at the 2021 HSNCT after taking just one loss in the prelims. In the 2021-22 season, Buffalo Grove has consistently ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation.
