Eric Bell is a former coach at Norman North High School and a founding member of NAQT. He previously played for Broken Arrow High School and the University of Oklahoma.

Playing Career

Bell played for Broken Arrow in high school, winning one (or possibly two) OSSAA Academic Bowl State Championships. After graduating, he co-founded the quizbowl team at the University of Oklahoma in 1993 alongside Dan Beshear. In 1998, he led Oklahoma to a fourth-place finish at ACF Nationals, placing third individually with 62.7 PPG.

Community Involvement

Bell was a founding member of NAQT in 1996. In 2001, he and Greg Oppel co-founded the Oklahoma Quiz Bowl Alliance. The OQBA hosted two events each year until 2010, during which time Bell was also the coach at Norman North High School and of the Oklahoma All-Star team which placed 14th at the first ever NASAT.
