Biking is a slang term for cheating in online quizbowl matches. Usually, the term refers specifically to cheating that occurs by searching up the answers to questions using the internet, but may also refer to cheating in general.
The concept of biking is often represented on Discord using the :bike: emoji.
The origin of the term is disputed. One common explanation points to Lance Armstrong, and his cheating case. Another, far less common theory is summarized by the following anecdote: "When one of the first online cheaters, Raymond Wang, was caught, he told the TDs that he was out biking to excuse his lack of a camera or mic[rophone].
