Honaker is a team from deep southwestern Virginia that mostly plays in the Virginia High School League. They are known as the dominant team over the Group A Black Diamond District for the past 13 years, and 6-time Region D Champions. They have been VHSL state tournament competitors for 8 out of the past 9 years.

Roster

The '09-'10 team is led by Senior Captain Charlie Perkins and Junior Co-Captain Alyssa Hubbard. In rotation are Sophomore Josh O'Quinn, Sophomore Nick Hubbard, and Jacob Mitchell, hailing from the eighth grade. Other substitutes are Freshmen Taylor Richardson, Morgan Stacy, and Katelyn Jessie.

Roster

The 2009-2010 team consisted of 6 players and was led by Captain John Musick and Co-Captain Jordon Vandyke. Charlie Perkins filled the third slot, and the fourth slot was typically rotated between Sophomore Alyssa Hubbard and Freshman Josh O'Quinn. Nick Hubbard occasionally saw play as well.

2007-2008

The 2007-2008 season was the first year for Honaker at Non-VHSL tournaments. The team attended the Cave Spring Invitational II and the EQUINE II, the latter of which featured Honaker A in second place after the final tournament rankings. At the VHSL State Tournament, the team had a similar performance to the previous year, finishing 0-2 with losses to the soon-to-be champions Radford High and Rappahannock County, who would finish 4th.

Roster

Honaker's first tournament A-Team was composed of two Seniors, Captain Orville J. Herndon and Co-Captain Garrett Cook. The final two positions were held by Co-Captain John Musick and a rotation between Jordon Vandyke and Charlie Perkins.

The B-Team for 07-08 featured the Junior Fisher Wilson, Sophomore Shannon Harris, Freshman Alyssa Hubbard, and either Jordon Vandyke or Charlie Perkins, depending on who played for the A-Team.

2006-2007

Honaker High only had one senior in the 06-07 season, Kiffani Cook. Despite this, the team finished the season with a 19-7 record, becoming Black Diamond District Champions for the tenth consecutive year, and they were also Region D Champions. Honaker finished the 2007 VHSL State Tournament with an 0-2 record after losses to Mathews High and Rappahannock County.

Roster

The starting team typically consisted of the only Senior, Captain Kiffani Cook, as well as Co-Captain Orville J. Herndon, Garrett Cook and John Musick.

- Honaker coach Alex Zachwieja is a member of the VHSL Scholastic Bowl Advisory Committee. He took up the position in 2009.
