2023 OAC Regionals

The 2023 OAC Regional Tournaments were held at various sites around Ohio on April 15, 2023, to determine the teams who would advance to the 2023 OAC State Tournament.

Format

Six different regional tournaments were held at these sites:

Southwest	Little Miami High School - Cincinnati, OH

Each tournament had a 16-team double elimination format with a disadvantaged final. After a team lost two games, they were placed into a pool with other teams who lost in the same round as them.

Teams were seeded based on a seeding test given before the first round of play. In some regions, the higher seeds received a first-round bye because less than 16 teams were competing.

The top two placing teams from each region would automatically advance to the state tournament. The other four state tournament qualifiers were determined based on a formula using controllable points (the amount of points scored on team and alphabet round questions) across all regions.

North Coast Region

Solon won the North Coast region and received a States auto-bid, and Aurora also received an auto-bid as the runner-up. The next highest team by underlying stats was Theodore Roosevelt, but they failed to earn a wild-card bid.

Only 9 teams participated in this region. Pool results were unreported in this region.

The next highest team by underlying stats was CHCA, who failed to earn a wild-card bid.
