Paul Nelson is a founding member and a former president of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance. Paul played for Cuba High School from 1995 to 1998, where he was a member of four state championship teams, and went on to play in college at Missouri S&T.

Before moving out of the state, Paul was one of the most visible figures in the Missouri quizbowl scene, due to his propensity for moderating various tournaments on nearly every weekend and his assistance to new teams.

Paul moved to Ohio in the summer of 2010 and served as director of the Mahoning County Quizbowl League in 2012 and 2013. He now lives in Maryland.
