Lakeside School is a private grade 5-12 school in Seattle, Washington.

In 2005, Lakeside surprised many high school scene watchers by finishing in second place at the NAQT HSNCT to Thomas Jefferson, losing only to TJ during the course of the tournament. They also jumped out to a large lead in the final game and took TJ down to the last tossup--the only team to come within 280 points of TJ in any game at the HSNCT that year.

Prior to 2012, Lakeside was one of only two schools from west of the Mississippi to reach the finals of a good quizbowl national championship. The team consisted of Kyle Haddad-Fonda, Benjamin Bishop, Patrick Leahy, and Michael Dunn.

In recent years, Lakeside has cemented itself (in most formats) as once again the best team in the Pacific Northwest. When the school fields full teams, Lakeside has had tremendous success at local and regional tournaments, winning the NAQT Washington State Championships and/or Pacific Northwest Championships 5 out of the last 8 years.

In addition to NAQT tournaments, Lakeside has also fielded teams and individuals into the national championships of the National History Bee and Bowl, US History Bee, and USGO. History and geography have always been Lakeside's stronger subjects as past and present team captains have included two participants at the national level in the National Geographic Bee (Kyle Haddad-Fonda won in 2001 and Andrew Ma tied for 11th in 2014) and one Top-3 finisher at the United States Geography Olympiad (Austin Wei in 2016).

In the 2016-2017 season, Lakeside's varsity history bowl team placed second at the NHBB Pacific Northwest Championship and won Western Washington and Washington State. Lakeside then went on to place 47th out of 144 teams at the NHBB National Championships. In 2018, the overall Quizbowl team was ranked for the first time under Fred Morlan's methodology at 182nd in the nation. The team outperformed that ranking at the 2018 NAQT HSNCT by placing 136th despite several disappointing losses as the fourth team out of the playoffs. However, the team did manage to achieve the highest PPB at a national tournament achieved in the last decade.

Outside of Quizbowl, it should be noted that Lakeside has produced many notable alumni including Bill Gates and Paul Allen of Microsoft, and typically graduates 100% of its students.

They won the NAQT Washington State Championship and/or NAQT Pacific Northwest Championship in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2017 and participated in the NAQT HSNCT in 2005, 2006, 2010, 2011, 2014, 2016, and 2018.
