John Sheahan was a player for Chicago for seven years as both an undergraduate and a law student, where he won ACF Nationals in 1993 and 1994, the CBI NCT in 1994, and the the first ever NAQT ICT in 1997.
He is widely considered one of the best players in the history of quizbowl. Andrew Yaphe and Zeke Berdichevsky ranked him as the second best player of all time in the 2005 edition of their Definitive Greatest Players List and sixth best of all time in the 2011 edition.
