The Beach Ball Classic is a high school basketball tournament in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. From 1998 to 2003, the Beach Ball Classic sponsored a parallel Academic Olympics quizbowl tournament for the academic teams from each of the participating basketball schools. Leveraging a number of in-state sponsors for the tournament, the Beach Ball Classic awarded scholarships totaling as much as $100,000 to teams each year. The exact format is unclear, but appears to have been based on Jeopardy!
Schools known to have participated:
- White Station High School
- Hatboro-Horsham High School
- North Myrtle Beach High School
