Single-elim on mostly one-clue tossups are used and there are no bonuses. There's conferring on tossups for a team when the other team guesses wrong. At certain points of the match, each team is given a video question answer. There is a lighting round in the middle of the match. When a question is answered incorrectly, the team that answered incorrectly loses 10 points and the toss-up becomes dead. Questions packets used are questionable as a result of its quality and choice of topics. The tournament is considered a example of bad quizbowl as a result, which resulted in University Lab boycotting and prominent players from Centennial to decline to attend.
