The Texas Quiz Bowl Alliance is an organization that runs NAQT-style tournaments in and around the state of Texas. It is the primary organization responsible for promoting quizbowl across most of Texas (with the notable exception of the El Paso region).
Organization
TQBA runs tournaments at both the high school and middle school level (some with a JV/novice division and/or elementary divisions as well). TQBA also sponsors a series of summer and winter camps for players to improve as well as the Texas Invitational.
Chris Romero is the executive director of TQBA and Stephen Fontenot is the deputy director. A wide array of alumni and current students also assist in running TQBA.
Tournaments
TQBA runs several high school tournaments throughout the season. Recent tournaments have expanded the reach of "good quizbowl" to the Corpus Christi and McAllen regions in addition to the traditional centers of Houston, Dallas, and Austin.
