Perhaps his best overall individual performance came when he placed seventh in JV at the 2019 [[US History Bee]], which marked his first finals appearance in a major nationals event.

Nathaniel Kang is a quizbowl player for the NYU Violets. In high school, he captained St. Margaret's and was founder of the team.

In middle school, Kang exclusively played NHBB; between 2015 and 2018, he was a semifinalist at History Bee nationals four consecutive years.

High school

As a freshman, Nate began playing general quizbowl in addition to History Bowl. Kang was the national champion of the 2018 JV Sports & Entertainment Bee and placed 7th in the 2019 JV US History Bee.
