This article describes the Quiz Bowl team of the University of Missouri. For Quiz Bowl in the state of Missouri, see Missouri (State)

The University of Missouri Quizbowl Club is the official collegiate quizbowl organization of the University of Missouri's flagship campus at Columbia (also known as MU or Mizzou). The team attends circuit tournaments regularly in its home state as well as the surrounding area. The team actively hosts both high school tournaments and college tournaments as an organization and serves to assist in the efforts of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance.

History

The current incarnation of the team at Missouri began in 2008, when the club was re-founded by Charlie Dees and Alex Dzurick. Prior to this, the history of the club is a little more unclear. A competitive circuit team (that is, beyond CBI) did exist on campus as late as 2006, on which Jason Mueller competed, and NAQT records have entries for Missouri in tournaments as early as the 1996 Midwest SCT. Incomplete records date as far back as 1994's CBI Regionals.

For results from previous seasons, please see Missouri historical results.

The club received a MU Chancellor's Excellence Award for Best Small Student Organization in 2011.

Hosted Events

Note: Some quizbowl events that occur on the Missouri campus are not officially affiliated with the team. The Missouri Quizbowl Alliance has frequently utilized facilities due to Columbia's centralized location. While the Missouri team itself was not the host for these events, team members often staff MOQBA events. The NAQT Missouri Qualifier was held at MU from 2010-2015, and from 2010-2012 the Pre-Nationals tournament was held at MU. In addition, the campus is the official site for the MSHSAA state championship quizbowl tournament and the Missouri Scholars Academy Scholar Bowl, but these events are unaffiliated in any way with the Missouri team.
