Alston Boyd was a player for Chicago, where his deep philosophy and literature knowledge helped secure victory at the 2018 ACF Nationals and DII at 2016 ICT. He was voted 4th Scorer of the Year at 2018's Players Choice Awards, presumably for his ICT performance, as he was the 2nd scorer on the winning Nats team.

In high school, he played for Bloomington High School. He was named a member of the First Team for the 2015 HSQBRank All-World Teams.
