Newly created this year, the ECHHS Quiz Bowl team has made great strides throughout the season. The A and B team lineups have consistently changed during the season. However, notable players include Club President Alex Loyal, art history and physics specialist Alex Mariakakis, Music (especially jazz) specialist and generalist Josh Loyal, History and Politics specialist Ezra Dunkle Polier, military history expert Jun Hong, and mythology guru, all-around player, and member of the 2009 North Carolina All-Star Quiz Bowl Team Arthur Kim.

East Chapel Hill also has a [[History Bowl]] team that regularly hosts the NC State Championships, played on the A set at some point in the spring.

East Chapel Hill High School is a high school located in the northeastern part of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

At the 2013 HSNCT, an East team of Salman Iftikhar, Sung-Hoon Kim, Alex Li, and Jacob Reed tied for 8th place, with the 11th-ranked individual scorer. Will Holub-Moorman, Sung-Hoon Kim, Roman Lin, and Jacob Reed tied for 13th place, with individuals ranked Nos. 31 and 43, at the 2012 HSNCT.
