Gabe was widely recognized as one of the best high school players in Missouri from his sophomore year until graduating in 2022, having led his team to MSHSAA state championship titles in 2019 (alongside Will Secker), 2021, and 2022, as well as the MOQBA Fall Championship in 2019 and 2021. He also played on Missouri A at NASAT in 2021 and 2022.
