The Comet Winter Clash Invitational, formerly known as the Glen Gonsalves memorial tournament, is Solon High School's annual quizbowl tournament, usually held around mid-February. It consists of a Saturday tournament with High School and Middle School divisions (using NAQT's IS and MS series respectively) and a Sunday mirror of HFT.
Saturday Tournament
The Saturday Tournament of Comet Winter Clash has consistently been held since 2007, and always on one of NAQT's Invitational Series (IS) sets. Detroit Catholic Central A (MI) has the most wins out of any team, at 4, while Miami Valley A (OH) and Olmsted Falls A (OH) are tied with 3. All three schools also have the distinction of winning the tournament 3 years in a row, with Olmsted Falls having done so from 2010 to 2012, DCC from 2015 to 2017, and Miami Valley from 2018 to 2020.

Sunday Tournament
The Sunday Tournament was consistently held from 2010 to 2020, immediately following the Saturday event. However, since the outbreak of COVID-19, Solon has largely been unable to continue its two-day tournament format. The Sunday Tournament was usually a mirror of HFT, but there were exceptions to this: 2012 and 2013 were mirrors of Maggie Walker's GSAC set, 2014 was a BHSAT mirror, and 2019 was an EFT mirror. Like the Saturday Tournament, Detroit Catholic Central A (MI) has the most wins at this event, with 3, while Beavercreek A (OH) and Olmsted Falls A (OH) have 2 each.
