The school is open to juniors and seniors enrolled in high schools throughout Oklahoma, and provides an education primarily focused on upper-level STEM courses. Prior to the establishment of an OSSM quizbowl team, OSSM students were normatively allowed to play for their "home" schools (where they were still technically enrolled students).
