One of the most notable (albeit non-academic) scenes from his career occurred after the 2008 [[VHSL]] State Championship. A fondly remembered moment among team members is an incident in which Musick negged on a question on hydrophobia and instead gave the answer "homophobia".

Another related incident occurred during an introduction during the '08-'09 season in which teammate [[Charlie Perkins]] unknowingly referred to himself as "Charlie Musick". An outburst of laughter from moderators and bystanders ensued.
