Enoch Lok Him Yuen is a former key player for the Imperial A quizbowl team, joining in 2020 and staying active until his retirement from student quizbowl in 2024. Known as a relaxed and fun quiz player, Enoch prioritized camaraderie and enjoyment over intense cut-throat competitiveness. As the only Imperial team member involved in all their non-novice tournament wins during his time, he attributes these successes to the talent and support of all his teammates. By 2024, Enoch achieved top 3 finishes in 21 out of the 25 tournaments he entered, including both college and open events, marking a memorable quizzing journey.

He tends to perform better in harder tournaments. While he studies Biological Sciences at Imperial and Business Management at Cambridge, his favorite topic is Geography (he is a member of the Travelers' Century Club) and his specialist subject is World Literature.

College Career

Enoch is part of the iconic Imperial A team, alongside teammates Michael Mays, Justin Lee and Adam Jones. Together, they won the 2023 British Student Quiz Championships, providing Imperial with its first ever BSQC title. A recording of the final was uploaded to YouTube. They also won the British mirrors of ARCADIA "2022", ACF Regionals, C++, and MRNA that year. Later in 2023, with new member Nilai Sarda, the team won ARCADIA 2023, securing victories in all UK college quizbowl tournaments they entered, attaining 61 wins out of 63 matches across those tournaments.

Earlier in his career, Enoch helped Imperial claim its first quizbowl title in the 28-team British mirror of Southeast-Midwest Housewrite tournament, playing with teammates Michael Kohn, Felix Swift Roberts and Richard Brooks. He also contributed to Imperial’s qualification for the 2022 ACF Nationals. However, due to travel issues, he couldn't attend the competition in-person. In 2023, Enoch once again helped Imperial to qualify for ACF Nationals and participated in the MIT-held competition that year with teammates Michael Mays, Carlos Doebeli, and Rahim Dina.

Open Career

In Open tournaments, Enoch won the British mirror of BHSU 2023 with Evan Lynch, Mark Grant, and Michael Mays. He also joined Michael Kohn, Felix, and Ali Izzatdust to form the team Marvell Kinematic Universe, which placed 2nd in the UK-mirrored open tournament NASAT in 2022, and winning NASAT in 2024.

With long-time Imperial A teammates, Enoch, Michael Mays, Justin and Adam established the team 3HK1MM (named for the Hong Kong heritage of Enoch, Justin, and Adam). The team placed 3rd in the UK-mirrored open tournament Penn Bowl in 2022, finished 2nd in 2023, and ultimately won the Penn Bowl in 2024.
