Jeremy was first recruited to the Francis Howell Central team at the beginning of the 2008 season by Charles Hang. During his high school career spanning the 2008 and 2009 seasons, Jeremy consistently attended tournaments with the team, with his most noteworthy moment possibly being when on the Francis Howell Central B team along with two sophomores, with Jeremy playing captain the FHC B team placed into the top playoff bracket at the 2009 NAQT Missouri Qualifier, despite being a player short and despite two of the players being sophomores. The playoff spot came down to an extra half, sudden death. With one question remaining, the FHC B team was down by 30 points; 40 possible points remaining in the game. David Lanza quickly gets the final tossup worth 10 points keeping the possibility of an upset alive. The final bonuses were in the subject of math theory, specifically Statistics. With Jeremy being the only player having any background in advanced mathematics, the game and playoff hope came down to him getting all three bonuses correct for the needed 30 points. One by one Jeremy answered the bonuses correct scoring all 30 points on the bonus and sending the FHC B team to the playoffs.

Jeremy originally did not plan to play Quiz Bowl in college, but was recruited yet again by Charles Hang into becoming a member of the St. Charles Community College team which Hang was forming. Jeremy played at all of the team's tournaments in the 2009-2010 season except for the 2010 Matt Cvijanovich Memorial Novice Tournament (which Charles Hang played solo). Beyond that, Jeremy assisted Charles Hang in managing the team's affairs, helping with logistics, driving, and recruiting. It was Jeremy who recruited Mike Janoski, the team's second best player behind Charles Hang. During a tournament Jeremy and Mike played Charles in a competitive, yet friendly game. Jeremy claimed that his strategic playing style held merit that Charles firmly disagreed upon. Jeremy and Mike played the first half under the presumed strategy and at half time the SCC A team of Jeremy and Mike were on top of the SCC B team; Charles. The second half the stagey was discontinued. This gives strong support for the competitive attitude of Jeremy Roznowski, and also his belief that everything involves strategy.

Jeremy is probably best known in the wider Quiz Bowl community for an inflammatory post he made in response to the "Charles Hang discussion" thread on the Quizbowl Resource Center forums. Made several weeks after active discussion in the post had ended, the post attacked the perceived elitism of the collegiate circuit towards Community Colleges. [2] This attempt to defend his friend and teammate earned Jeremy a swift ban and the thread a trip to the Forbidden Zone. [3]
