Rutgers typically refers to the quizbowl program at Rutgers New Brunswick in New Jersey. It should not be confused with the program at Rutgers Newark or Rutgers-Camden.
History
The top teams at Rutgers centered around Kevin Costello, who graduated in 2007, Jason Keller, who graduated in 2008, and Sam Braunfeld, a current math PhD student. The team finished 7th at the 2007 ICT and placed 18th at the 2008 ICT, with Keller finishing 2nd in individual scoring. At the 2008 ACF Nationals, the team finished with a 6-6 record in the Middle Bracket. At the 2014 ACF Nationals the team came in 23rd out of 34, and in 2015 they placed 26th out of 48.
More recently, the team has featured Braunfeld, David Song, Stephanie Yuen, and Joelle Smart, and has resumed hosting the Scarlet Knight Invitational Tournament for high schoolers.
Former members include Harrison Hsu and Isabel Juniewicz.
Tournaments Hosted
Rutgers has occasionally hosted ACF and NAQT tournaments, as well as trash tournaments like the Molly Pitcher Service Area Open.
