Recent Years
The team consistently finished in second at local tournaments behind Richard Montgomery in 2006. That year, Andrew Kincaid, captain Zach Klitzman, Adam Marshall, and Buddy Sutton went 6-4 in the prelims and tied for 17th at the 2006 HSNCT, thus showing exactly how far a team composed of four (mostly) history players could go.
In 2007, the team had several second-place and semifinal finishes at local tournaments in the early stages of the season. With Shantanu Jha moving up to the A-team in late Winter, though, the team improved markedly, beating Gonzaga and future national champs Maggie Walker at the Maryland Spring Classic. Riding that momentum, Whitman finished in a surprising tie for fifth at the 2007 HSNCT.
In 2008, the A team, consisting of Shantanu Jha, Adam Marshall, Damjan Korac, and Daniel Brezina placed 3rd at HSNCT and 1st at the NSC.
