Until 2005, the spring Boren Cup at the University of Oklahoma doubled as the NAQT state tournament. Since then, the Oklahoma State University quiz bowl team has hosted the event annually. Tournament results prior to 2005 are partially unavailable. The NAQT state championship is now considered most legitimate instead of the longrunning OSSAA state tournament due to issues of bad question writing.
