The tournament was held at the University of Minnesota - Rochester.  Ken Jennings notably served as the moderator. During quarterfinal rounds, which first aired on May 14, 2006, [[Cretin-Derham Hall]] defeated Minnetonka 330-325 and [[Eden Prairie]] beat [[Mounds Park Academy]] 450-160. On May 21, 2006, [[Chaska]] defeated [[Armstrong]] and [[St. Thomas Academy]] defeated [[DeLaSalle]]. On May 28, Chaska defeated Cretin-Derham Hall and St. Thomas Academy defeated Eden Prairie to move into the finals, where St. Thomas Academy eventually scored a convincing victory over Chaska High School. The four members of the victorious team were [[Josh Mollner]], [[Jack Boyle]], [[Tom Sullivan]], and [[Kevin Partington]].
