The 1997 NAQT Intercollegiate Championship Tournament was held at Penn in 1997. This was the first ICT. Only the DI champion was crowned; the Undergrad and DII championships were first introduced in the 1998 ICT.

Chicago came in 1st place in DI and Harvard came in 2nd place.
