Charlie Dees was a member of the Missouri Quizbowl Alliance and assistant coach of Rock Bridge High School.

Charlie played for North Kansas City; he was notable for being one of the top high school players nationally in 2008, and put up 210 ppg at the 2008 NSC.

During the 2008 NSC All-Star Round Charlie was holding his buzzer near the table when Dan Humphrey moved his elbow, forcing Charlie's finger to activate the buzzer in the middle of a tossup. Hilarity ensued, as Charlie was negged after responding with "You hit me!"

In June 2008, Charlie was named an interim member of PACE, from which he resigned in 2010. Charlie has also written for HSAPQ and NAQT, and worked with George Berry to supervise each incarnation of the Fall Novice Tournament.
