Farragut High School is a public high school located in the suburbs of Knoxville, TN. They have been regionally active since 2008 and recently have attended several Quizbowl and History Bowl National Championships.
2013 HSNCT
At the 2013 HSNCT they tied for 50th with a team of Lawrence Wang(57.42 ppg), Kai Smith(20.31 ppg), Lam Tran(12.50 ppg), M.J. Badgett(8.66 ppg), and Akshay Soni(6.20 ppg). Captain Lawrence Wang was also named an All-Star for his excellent performance.
2014 NSC
Farragut achieved its best performance ever at a quizbowl National Championships when they placed 8th at the 2014 NSC. The team was led by Captain Kai Smith(11), who achieved an impressive 88.89 ppg by getting 42 powers(20 points) and 76 regular tossups(10 points) and was named a tournament all-star. Daniel Yan(10) added 34.44 ppg on 18 powers and 26 tossups, Ani Perumalla(11) added 24.44 ppg on 13 powers and 18 tossups, Akshay Soni(12) added 7.78 ppg on 2 powers and 3 tossups, and Don Joo(11) added 1.11 ppg on one tossup.
2014 HSNCT
Farragut tied for 53rd at the 2014 HSNCT. The team consisted of captain Kai Smith, Yongyu Chen, Akshay Soni, Ronik Sheth, and Jimmy Terrell.
2015 HSNCT
Farragut again tied for 53rd at the 2015 HSNCT. The team consisted of captain Kai Smith, Jimmy Terrell, and Ronik Sheth.
