In 2018, Plano West won the NAQT HSNCT. Their victory at the National Academic Championship makes them one of the few NAC champions to deserve the title of "top team in the nation".
Their NAQT A team consisted of Jaskaran Singh, Abhinav Godavarthi, Avi Ackermann, and Thomas Gioia. Dachey Lin, Ryan Conti, and Anish Yellaturu were added for the NAC team.
