Ryan Bilger is a notable former high school player at Emmaus High School and current college player at Gettysburg College in PA. He occasionally writes for GPQB.

High School Career

Ryan's high school of Emmaus usually competed in a local Lehigh Valley league and on the WLVT Scholastic Scrimmage TV show. After discovering pyramidal quizbowl his Senior year, Ryan led Emmaus to a series of high finishes at Eastern PA tournaments, highlighted by an upset over Manheim Township to win the 2014 Henderson Invitational and winning the 2015 NAQT Eastern Pennsylvania State Championship.

College Career

Ryan started a team at Gettysburg and, despite difficulty finding transportation to and from rural South-Central PA, has helped make Gettysburg a regular on the college quizbowl circuit.

In 2019, he began a graduate program at West Virginia University and has helped start an active team there.
