Daniel M. Maggin is currently a contract question writer for NAQT. He played one season for the University of Maryland before retiring from collegiate competition, and in direct violation of Weiner's Law #2, has yet to un-retire.
Maggin appeared on Jeopardy! on May 27th, 2008, losing to Larissa Kelly.
Maggin's Maryland All-Stars placed first at the 2000 Panasonic Academic Challenge.
While at Rockville High School, during Maggin's junior year the team finished second in the country at the PACE-run National Scholastics Championship, as well as winning the Superbowl on It's Academic. In his senior season, Rockville lost in the It's Academic finals.
After graduating from Rockville, Maggin coached his former high school during the 2000-2001 season with Linda Mencarini.
