Mehrun Etebari is a quiz bowl player from Brandeis University. As a junior, he led Brandeis to a top-eight finish at the Division II 2002 ICT, their highest placement in any academic nationals. He also played and excelled in Trash formats.
Perhaps most notably, he was a Jeopardy! five-day champ in 2007, earning $128,100. He qualified for the season-ending tournament of champions, but did not advance past the first round. His regular season earnings were the ninth-largest in Jeopardy! game show history at the time.
After graduating Brandeis, he studied at Boston College and Yale University.
