:I should have worded this section a bit better. I definitely think that it makes sense to keep it in (in some form) - if/when the AQBL page gets updated with some discussion about the criticism I think there'll be enough context for this to feel less like slander and more like part of a larger trend. -Kevin Wang (talk) 21:24, 30 June 2021 (CDT)

::Very much with Em on this. I look forward to more details about what was told to the coaches about the schedules, what was said in the public chat, who ended up staffing the tournament, and other important details that would help people make a decision about what kind of event took place. -Chris Chiego) 21:00, 30 June 2021 (PDT)

Revision as of 22:00, 30 June 2021

"Concerns about the ONCT were leveled immediately after it was announced and largely dove-tailed with criticisms made of the AQBL organization as a whole. The largest concern was whether the relatively inexperienced members of AQBL (who were all high schoolers at the time of announcement) would be able to handle the logistics of even a modestly-sized national tournament. These concerns were primarily leveled by older members of community; by contrast, support for the ONCT among members of the hsquizbowl Discord was very high. The concerns died down once AQBL proved they could run successful tournaments during the regular season."

What the hell? This part of the page is completely dismissive of the legitimate concerns about the organisation (many of which seem to have been validated!) and turning it into some sort of petty Youngs v. Olds argument. Do Better.
