Career
Middle school
During middle school, Kang exclusively played NHBB; between 2015 and 2018, he was a semifinalist at History Bee nationals four consecutive years.
High school
As a freshman, Nate began playing general quizbowl in addition to History Bowl. Kang was the national champion of the 2018 JV Sports & Entertainment Bee and placed 7th in the 2019 JV US History Bee.
Kang was the top varsity individual scorer at the NAQT-sanctioned tournaments DNE II in 2018 (86.67 ppg) and PPT V in 2021 (113.00 ppg). He was also selected as an All-Star at 2022 SSNCT, finishing in the top four individual scorers in the Open division.
Writing
He was a writer for ERIS, a novel-level set produced in 2020.
