Revision as of 17:03, 20 January 2022
"Melissa McCush's 117 tossups throughout the day was the second most by any individual to date and set the record for most tossups answered correctly by a female at the state championship in any class, also becoming the first female in tournament history to answer more than 50 tossups correctly. This also set the Class 3 record, which was previously 99 by Sean Phillips of Boonville in 2000. This total remained the Class 3 record until Sophie Lockwood of Hallsville correctly answered 136 tossups in 2018."
I think the bolded parts may be problematic in conjunction, though I'm not privy to either player's personal gender. What should be done here? Is there a better way to word the "female record" clause, or would it be best just to remove it?
